The sun-skins

Physical Appearance: Sun-skins have dark, “tiger” orange skin, also compared to the color of the fall sunset. Their hair color ranges from red, to auburn (like Lina) to dark brown, to almost black. Their eye color is usually a deep, chestnut brown. Because of the difficulty of their lives, most are slim and wiry, but tend to be very physically fit.

Sun-skins live in small, widely separated villages. Most villages (also called clans) consist of twenty-five to one-hundred individuals in probably three to fifteen family groups. The various families live in primitive mud-and-stick huts, and keep domesticated animals and gardens for food.

Sun-skins believe in an earth spirit, called Será, that is said to protect and provide for them. Será does not judge their right to live, so they do not judge others’ rights. They do kill to protect themselves and their families, but they do not kill as a means of punishment. Instead, they ban those who do not/cannot live within their (rather loose) rules.
