Degrees: BS Mechanical Engineering, MS Computer Science, PhD Nuclear Engineering (“A Design for a Long-Running, Self-Feeding Reactor”).

Brian is a tall, handsome, blond-haired, blue-eyed engineer with a very outgoing and friendly personality. He met Adam the first time when they were both graduate students and Adam needed help with a programming assignment. They became good friends and later shared an apartment until Adam completed his master’s degree.

Brian, when asked why he liked a girl like Jane when he could have anyone he wanted, replied that she was the girl he wanted because she was the smartest woman he’d ever met. As he went on to explain, he was such a computer geek, despite his looks, he couldn’t see being with anyone but another geek—and he considered Jane to be just his kind of geeky girl. Besides, as he was very quick to add, she had such a pretty smile.

Adam was responsible for bringing Brian onto Dr. Marsden’s new program, as Adam was already Dr. Marsden’s top research assistant. Brian’s expertise as a mechanical and nuclear engineer (ref. his thesis) was very instrumental in seeing the new Facility properly designed and outfitted. He also was the lead design engineer for the computer. In every sense, it really was Brian’s computer, his nuclear power plant—his Facility.
