Cameron Fralick

Age: 26

Birthdate: January 5.

Physical Appearance: 1.73 m, 59 kg. Brown hair and blue eyes, thin, “weaselly,” triangular face, narrow chin, squinty eyes.

Degrees: Political Science, MBA, no doctorate (presumed to have a background in some sort of engineering).

Mr. Fralick was part of Dr. Marsden’s research team. He was brought onto the project at the request of Fralick’s father, a US Senator and chairman of the defense oversight committee, who wanted to see his son involved in an important (and secret) project. Few people even knew his middle name was “Aloysius” (an old family name) but he hated being called that. His few friends (weasels like him) called him Cameron, but most just called him Fralick. Dr. Marsden called him Mister Fralick, as if to emphasize his lack of credentials.

Fralick tried to become part of the small group of friends: Adam, Brian, and Jane. But he was too critical of others, too harsh toward the remaining research team to really endear himself to anyone. Yet he persisted to hang around with Brian, whom he seemed to view as his “best” friend. Brian seemed to tolerate Fralick, which was perhaps his downfall.

Fralick’s main fault is his almost obsessive need to get ahead—to be the leader, the boss. Ambitious doesn’t quite describe him. Competitive, contentious, stubborn, fault-finding, abrupt, and sarcastic all describe him very well. Despite his obvious “sub-genius” intelligence (not the brightest person on the team), he is often the first person to suggest a solution or an answer, and would be the last person to realize the insufficiency of his own ideas. He does not listen to others, or consider that someone else might know more than he does.
